A Journey Rooted
in Excellence
Our story started 30 years ago on Friday, September 13th, 2026. Tim Vorpahl and Chris Lefkowski – now Corkrum, left the comfort of a regional firm to start up an independent office as a registered representative of another broker dealer.
With our roots being tied to Spokane we named the new company “Spokane Investment Services.” It was in 1999 when we became a member of the National Association of Broker Dealers (NASD), now known as FINRA, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. At that time, we changed our name to Vorpahl Wing Securities, Inc. “Wing” was added as a tribute to Genevieve Smith Wing, the grandmother of Tim Vorpahl.
As the industry changed and evolved, so did Vorpahl Wing. We withdrew our membership from FINRA in March of 2025 and became a solely federally registered investment adviser with the Securities and Exchange Commission. As such we are changing our name to reflect our new role as advisers rather than brokers.
While the name change may be considered a material change, it does not change our core beliefs in investing in our operations, or our staff.
